Qatar Rail is looking for suitable companies to operate and manage the Customer Contact Centre services and to provide Customer surveys and analysis to measure the Customer Satisfaction across the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram network.

This announcement supersedes the two announcements dated in 15 December 2015regarding Doha Metro Railway Operator Prequalification and Lusail Tram Railway Operator Prequalification.

The following applicant are now qualified to tender for both Doha metro and Lusail Tram and that Qatar Rail will issue one tender for both networks.

On 7 May 2015, Qatar Rail launched its Prequalification (PQ) process for the Facility Management for the Doha Metro and Lusail Tram Stations.

This announcement is to inform Qatari Companies who have not yet participated in the above mentioned PQ process that Qatar Rail is open to receive new applications to participate in the PQ process.

The closing date for submission of your completed applications is 12:00 noon Monday, 8 February 2016

Qatar Rail will also be hosting an Industry Awareness Day for those who wish to participate in this PQ process on 25 January 2016. New prequalification process for Architectural Works is now open.

Qatar Rail and its main Contractors are particularly interested in sourcing subcontractors in the following categories.

1. Envelope and Façades  - for Underground and Elevated stations

2. Hard and Soft Landscaping - including Streetworks.

The PQ process also remains open for interested Multidiscipline and Interiors Finishes subcontractors.

Notes

1. Previously prequalified applicants need not apply.

2. Applicants who did not pass the previous prequalification process are welcomed to make a resubmission, if are available to improve their standing.

Qatar Rail has extended the submission for the Expressions of Interest and application for Prequalification for the following Qatar Rail Works part of the Doha Metro Phase-1 Project

Architecture Finishes Subcontracts including:

• Fit-outs for stations.

• Provision of Public Entrances, Envelope and Elevated Structures.

• Landscaping.

Interested companies should submit their Expressions of Interest and completed Application for Prequalification as per details included in the application form.

Qatar Rail had already conducted a Prequalification Process (PQ) for this project early 2014. Since the tender is now scheduled for release mid-2015, there is a need to repeat the PQ process.

Also this time the new PQ process is limited to the Civil Contractors. The Systems component will be contracted as a subcontract under the civil works contract

The applicants for this new PQ process are not to include or name the Systems subcontractor. Qatar Rail will produce at a later stage a list of approved systems subcontractors.

The Long Distance Freight and Passenger Rail Network will be an integral part of the overall Gulf Cooperation Council railway network linking Qatar with Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.

Phase 1 consists of design and construction of an operational slab track railway using diesel rolling stock. The passenger line will link Doha International Station to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia at Abu Samra.  Freight services will link Abu Samra with Doha Intermodal Freight Yard, New Doha Port Container Terminal and Mesaieed Port.

Qatar Rail is seeking a main civil contractor for the Design and Build of:

Civil Works including Earthworks, Bridges, Culverts, Trackwork, Freight Yards, Intermodal Yard and Passenger Station including Architecture and MEP, in addition to Systems installation and Integration by Qatar Rail approved Systems subcontractors.

The Prequalification application form will be available to download electronically on this page (Current Prequalification) during February 2015.
