Doha Metro Fuels Design Innovation at VCUarts Qatar'

Qatar Rail was invited to participate in a student’s project presentation at VCUarts Qatar, where students from various programs at VCUarts Qatar undertook a design project inspired by the dynamic Doha Metro. In the Graphic Design Spring elective course, known as GDES 491 Studio Topics in Design, these talented students were given a special opportunity to utilize their design skills and generate ideas that directly connect with the public spaces of the Doha Metro. The module saw students explore the potential for the metro’s public spaces to become even more socially and culturally active and impactful. With the Doha Metro as their canvas, students enthusiastically combined their design expertise with the rich tapestry of Qatari heritage and contemporary urban life. They embarked on a creative journey, blending visual, material, and digital elements, to captivate and engage metro users with compelling content about Doha’s culture, history, and landmarks.
